Overview
Beyond Borders: A Global Marketing Experience was the class event for MKTG 469, Global Marketing, at the University of Illinois Chicago. It was a breakfast session on April 27, 2026, in Douglass Hall. We offered free food, free coffee, and a morning of global marketing insights.
I served as the class coordinator and led the event from start to finish. I planned the program, designed the flyer, organized how classmates promoted it, and presented on the day.
What I did
- Coordinated the class team and led planning and logistics.
- Designed and produced the event flyer.
- Directed classmates in promoting the event.
- Arrived early with the supplies, food, and drinks.
- Presented at the event.
Results
- Full house: more than 20 attendees, above our attendance goal.
- Participants reported high satisfaction with the event.
- A classmate recognized my leadership in front of the class and said the work deserved extra credit.
What I learned
An event succeeds before anyone walks in. The attendance came from a clear plan, a flyer people noticed, and a team that knew exactly how to promote it. My job was to give everyone a specific role and then show up first.
